Manual handling is an everyday occurrence in the workplace and will vary in intensity from role to role. A large proportion of the workforce, at some point, will experience manual handling, including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying and moving. This type of activity can lead to workplace injury if not managed correctly.
Employers must protect employees from the risk of injury in the workplace under The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
This course will provide all participants with an understanding of manual handling in the workplace, including risk assessment and practical techniques for preventing injury.
Manual Handling Training is designed for participants at all levels who must undertake manual handling activities as part of their role.
This course requires no formal entry requirements. However, participants must be physically able to participate in practical activities during this course.
We recommend suitable clothing and footwear be worn for the course.
The course includes:
Manual Handling Training is valid for three years. After three years, the qualification will need to be renewed by completing the full course again.
The course will consist of a mixture of theory and practical learning and require completing a small assessment at the end of the day.
Successful participants will receive a certificate of competence.
